Impractical Jokers star Joe Gatto has confirmed he has stepped away from his role on comedy series after a decade. The comedian announced the news in a statement on Instagram on Friday as he revealed he was leaving the series to focus on his family life following his separation from wife Bessy.

Joe Gatto announces ‘amicable’ split with wife
Comedian Joe Gatto revealed he and wife Bessy had parted ways as he announced he would be leaving his role on the Impractical Jokers series in a statement on Instagram on Friday (31 December).
In the post, he confirmed he and his wife Bessy had split after eight years of marriage. He explained: “Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids.”
Bessy also shared the news in a post on her own Instagram page as she wrote: “With love and respect, we have decided to separate.”

Who is Joe Gatto’s wife Bessy?
Joe Gatto and wife Bessy have been together for more than a decade and tied the knot in 2013. Before the couple got married, Bessy lived with Joe and fellow Impractical Jokers star James Murray and moved in with them in 2010, as per Nicki Swift.
Impractical Jokers premiered the following year, with Bessy having made cameos throughout the show’s nine seasons. While her husband has become a household name thanks to the success of the Impractical Jokers, Bessy is seen to prefer to keep things low key, although she does share an insight into her life on Instagram.
As per her bio, she is a proud dog mom and is on the gala committee for the non-profit Second Chance Rescue.

Comedian’s family life explored
Joe and Bessy welcomed two children together, daughter Milana and son Remington is also known as Remo.
They welcomed their eldest Miliana in 2015 and went on to have son Remington in 2017.
As Joe and Bessy are both dog lovers, the family have a number of rescue dogs. In a 2019 interview as part of the Elvis Durnan show, he explained his then five dogs were all named after Italian deserts.
