Who is Jimmer Fredette’s wife? The American basketball player currently plays for Shanghai Sharks, a team in the Chinese Basketball Association. But what do we know about his wife, Whitney, and his life outside of basketball?

Jimmer Fredette, was born in Glen Falls, New York, on 25 February 1989, meaning he is almost 32 years old at the time of writing.

From a young age, he was passionate about sports. His older brother, TJ, recalled playing basketball with him when he was young.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, TJ remembers that his younger brother “willed himself to find ways to win, even if he was physically outmatched.

“From the time he was 10, I was telling him he was going to make the NBA.”

Fredette, who clocks in at 1.88 m tall (or 6’1.6″ tall), was Glen Falls High School’s all-time leading scorer, with 2,404 points. He ranks 16th on New York’s all-time scoring list.

He attended Brigham Young University in Utah from 2007-2011. Fredette majored in American Studies and played for BYU Cougars, the university’s basketball team.

In 2011 – his senior year – he was named the National Player Of The Year in college basketball.

Jimmer Fredette is a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, also known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church.

Jimmer Fredette’s wife is Whitney Fredette (née Wonnacott). The couple have two kids, Wesley and Taft, and a dog called George.

On August 27, 2011, Fredette tweeted about his engagement to Whitney.

Fredette and his wife were married on 1 June, 2012, in the Denver LDS Temple.

The pair met at Brigham Young University, where Whitney was a cheerleader for the BYU Cougars, the team Jimmer played for.

On her college experience, she said in an Instagram post: “BYU brought me some of the best 4 years of my life. I got an incredible education, I gained a stronger testimony of the saviour, I made lifelong friends, and I met my husband.”

The pair have been open about their faith as members of the LDS Church.
