Is Justin Bench related to Johnny Bench? People want to know if the Ole Miss Rebels’ youngster is related to the MLB Hall of Famer and Cincinnati Reds legend. Here’s what we know about them.

The University of Mississippi’s young star, Justin Bench

Justin Bench is a junior at the University of Mississippi where he plays for the Ole Miss Rebels baseball team.

Ole Miss are a NCAA Division I college baseball team that participates in the West Division of the Southeastern Conference.

Bench is majoring in managerial finance and has starred for Ole Miss since spending four years at Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater, Florida.

Are the two actually related?

Given that Justin and Johnny share the same surname, people are wondering if the two are related.

Sadly, however, they are not.

Johnny is 73-years-old now and has been married four times. He has three children – Justin Bench, Bobby Bench and Joshua Bench.

However, that Justin Bench is not Ole Miss’ Justin Bench, rather, it is just a coincidence they share the same name.

A 2018 article by Sports Illustrated with Johnny Bench noted at the time that his son, Justin, was a sixth-grader, and his other son, Josh, was a third-grader (so definitely not Ole Miss’ Justin Bench – he’d be too old).

Oddly enough, Ole Miss’ Justin Bench has a father called John Bench, but it is not the MLB Hall of Famer. The University of Mississippi’s Justin Bench is the son of Jill and John Bench, and was born on 28 August 1999.

He has one sister, Jordyn.
