Who is Ashley Biden?
Ashley Biden is the youngest daughter of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
Ashley was born on 8 June 1981 in Wilmington, Delaware and attended Wilmington Friends School, a private Quaker-run school.
After this, she went to Archmere Academy, a private Catholic School, before studying cultural anthropology at Tulane University in New Orleans.
After graduation, she worked as a waitress at a pizzeria in Wilmington before embarking on a career in social work.
Ashley Biden later moved to Philadelphia and started a job as a clinical support specialist at Northwestern Human Services Children’s Reach Clinic, assisting young people to access resources and work directly with therapists.
In 2017, she founded the Livelihood Collection, an ethical clothing brand, during New York Fashion Week. Livelihood’s logo of an arrow piercing through the letters LH is an homage to her half-brother, Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015.
Speaking about the decision to make this the brand’s logo, Ashley Biden said: “Beau was my bow. His cancer brought me to my knees. I had no choice but to shoot forward, keep going, keep aiming at my dreams.”

Two years later, Biden and Krein married in a Catholic-Jewish interfaith wedding at St Joseph’s On The Brandywine, a Catholic church in Biden’s hometown, Wilmington.
Howard Krein works at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and is also an assistant professor of facial, plastic, and constructive surgery at Thomas Jefferson University.
