Much-loved ITV Meridian presenter Fred Dinenage waved goodbye to his audience during his final show on Thursday night (17 December 2021). As it’s the last they’ll see of him on the 6pm show, viewers are interested to know more about his family life and wife.

It’s the end of an era: long-time ITV Meridian presenter Fred Dinenage is leaving his gig after 38 years on air.

Thankfully, however, it isn’t the last fans will see of him on TV.

With a career spanning almost six decades, he’ll continue his Murder Casebook series on Sky as well as ITV’s How.

Dinenage spoke to the channel this morning:

“It started as a seven-week contract at Southern TV on a children’s programme in 1963 – it has lasted 58 years. I still can’t believe it. I’ve been so happy at ITV. I just want to say thank you to my dear colleagues and our wonderful viewers for giving me so much love and support.”

Despite stepping down being a “tough decision”, the 79-year-old is retiring to spend more time with his wife, Beverley.

Who is Fred Dinenage’s wife Beverley?

Dinenage has been married to a woman named Beverley Victoria Summers since 1967, so they have been together for 54 years.

Summers was reportedly born in November 1945, making her 76 years old.

Since she isn’t active on social media and not in the public eye, there isn’t much information on Beverley other than allegedly being a businesswoman in relation to company Dinenages Signs & Designs.

The business was dissolved on 19 September 2017.
