This year’s Venice Film Festival is turning out to be one of the festival’s most hotly-anticipated events in years. But for Don’t Worry Darling star Florence Pugh, she’s swapping press conferences for Aperol Spritzes as she takes in the city sights.

The British actress, 26, is the lead in Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling. Set for a release later this month, the film has been the subject of much gossip as news of an alleged feud between Pugh and Wilde dominates headlines.

Even more speculation on the alleged feud has arisen as Pugh missed Don’t Worry Darling’s press conference and photo call. Instead, Pugh opted for cocktails in the sun. She was spotted strolling around the city with an Aperol Spritz in hand, in true Italian style.

Florence Pugh arrived in Venice, Italy on Monday, September 5th, as the press for Don’t Worry Darling took off. The premiere will occur later in the day.

Throughout the day, the Don’t Worry Darling stars (Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Chris Pine) and director (Olivia Wilde) appeared at the press conferences and photo calls. However, it was reported that Florence Pugh’s appearance at the Venice Film Festival premiere of Don’t Worry Darling was the only press she’d be doing for the film.

With Pugh missing the presser adding even more fuel to the speculative fire, you might want to know that she missed the conference due to her filming schedule in Budapest. Florence Pugh is currently filming Dune: Part Two in the Hungarian capital. Variety reports that her plane landed from Budapest after the Don’t Worry Darling press conference had taken place.

But it wasn’t Pugh’s arrival with ‘Granzo Pat’ that fans were excited over, but a short clip of Florence Pugh sipping on an Aperol Spritz in the Italian city.

Sporting an all-purple Maison Valentino outfit, the Don’t Worry Darling actress strolls through the city with a bright orange Aperol cocktail in hand.

The internet jokes about ditching obligations for Aperols

As soon as the clip of Florence Pugh strolling around Venice with an Aperol Spritz in hand hit the internet, some of Pugh’s fans made light of her choices.

One fan tweeted: “Florence Pugh is literally me because I too would ditch the awkward press conference to drink Aperol Spritz.”

Another joked: “Florence Pugh in that purple set with the orange Aperol is SERVING they said be here at 8am for the press conference but all she heard was ATE.”
