Emma Broyles’ talent performance as Miss America 2022

Miss Alaska, a 20-year-old student at Arizona State University named Emma Broyles, recently earned the Miss America 2022 title.

The winner was crowned on Thursday, 16 December at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and made history as the first contestant from the state to win the pageant in its century-long history.

In the talent portion of the competition, Broyles sang “Let Me Be Your Star” from the American musical drama television series named “Smash”.

The live event was available to stream using NBCUniversal’s service, Peacock. Grounded Reason reports that you should also be able to watch the performance on-demand if you were unavailable to stream live.

Prior to her musical performance, Broyles had already picked up a win in a preliminary competition by receiving a prize for her social impact initiative supporting the Special Olympics.

Along with an insane audience reaction, viewers also took to social media to express their response to Miss Alaska’s talent.

A Twitter user stated that Emma Boyle’s vocal performance will go down as one of the all-time best by a Miss America. The singer even performed in front of judge Katy Stam Irk, who some suggest may top that list.

Broyles received tons of positive feedback throughout the competition, with many acknowledging that she did “super well” in the talent section.

Find out more about her singing skills

As a junior honours student at the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University, Emma Broyles studies biomedical science and voice performance. It is no wonder she is so gifted as a vocalist!

Over on Instagram, @missamericaak previously flaunted her incredible singing skills and informed followers that talent is one of her favorite portions of the show in an accompanying caption which read:

“Did you know that in 1935 the talent segment was added to the Miss America competition? Personally, talent is one of my favorite portions of competition! I am SO excited to share my talent on stage at @missamerica this December.”

Perhaps you’re wondering whether or not Miss America 2022 can dance?

Well, @emmabroyles_ confirmed that dance isn’t her particular forte in the caption of a TikTok challenge posted ahead of the competition’s finale:

“You may have been able to guess that my talent for Miss America is not dance😁.”
