Who is Carolina Novoa?

Carolina Novoa is a TV news reporter and radio host, and wife of the late Edgardo Del Villar.

She was born in Washington DC but grew up in Colombia, where she studied communication and journalism at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She graduated in 2010.

After that, she completed a master’s degree in international affairs at Columbia University in New York and another in political science in Paris.

Carolina Novoa began her career at the age of 17, when she was a reporter for RCN Televisión in Colombia.

At the age of 24, she returned to the US. In September 2013, she began working at Telemundo51 as the presenter of morning magazine shows Buenos Dias Miami and Primiera Edition De Noticias.

She is the only Spanish-speaking court reporter in Miami. For her work in court reporting, Carolina Novoa won an Emmy Award in 2018 after being nominated for the same award multiple times.

Recently, she has become a holistic and functional medicine health coach alongside her day job as a TV presenter. She’s the founder of Novoa Nutricion.

Telemundo’s Edgardo Del Villar passes away, aged 51

Edgardo Del Villar was a TV journalist for Telemundo 47, the Spanish-language station that serves New York and New Jersey.

He died on 13 December at the age of 51 after he was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Del Villar co-anchored the 6pm and 11pm broadcasts of Noticiero 47 Telemundo until August, when he left as his health deteriorated.

The news of Del Villar’s passing was shared on Instagram by his wife, Carolina Novoa, on Monday.

She said: “Rest in peace! You will always be my Blue Prince!”

Christina Schwarz, president of Telemundo 47, said in a statement to NBC New York: “Edgardo Del Villar was a talented journalist and gifted storyteller with a smile that lit up the screen.

“He was an inspiration and we loved him. Our station family extends condolences to Edgardo’s mother, his siblings, his wife Carolina, and his beloved daughter, Dana.”
