Dr Dre is currently being treated for a brain aneurysm at a hospital in Los Angeles. However, while he was recovering in his hospital bed, robbers attempted to break into Dr Dre’s house in Brentwood. The story is still very fresh, but let’s take a closer look at what we know so far.
Why is Dr Dre in the hospital?
Dr Dre is currently in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after recently suffering a brain aneurysm.
An aneurysm is “a bulge in a blood vessel caused by a weakness in the blood vessel wall, usually where it branches.”
If the aneurysm ruptures, the bleeding can cause extensive brain damage. Luckily, Dr Dre is in the safe hands of medical professionals and has updated his fans to say he’s feeling fine and recovering.
Dr Dre posted the below picture to his 5.3 million Instagram followers and wrote: “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
What happened at Dr Dre’s house in Brentwood?
Dr Dre’s LA home in Brentwood was the target of an attempted burglary at about 10pm on Tuesday evening.
While the rapper lay in his hospital bed, burglars saw their chance to target his Brentwood home. Suspects were reported to be banging on fences and doors and breaking into homes in the area.
However, the police have revealed that nothing was taken from Dr Dre’s Brentwood house, as the burglars never made it inside.
Police officers had spotted a suspicious SUV near the property. Once chased off, four suspects were taken into police custody and their backpacks searched. Reportedly inside were tools such as saws and crowbars.
