Does the LaBrant family support Trump? With a week to go until the US Presidential Elections, the US is very much in voting mode. People are turning to their favourite celebrities and YouTubers for voting advice. But does this YouTuber family support President Trump for re-election?
Here’s everything we know.
Who are the LaBrant family?
The LaBrant family are an American vlogging family based in California. They currently have 12.7 million followers on their YouTube channel.
Cole LaBrant and Savannah Rose Soutas began dating in 2016 and got married in 2017. Cole adopted Savannah’s first child Everleigh, and is the dad to Posie and Zealand, the newest addition to the LaBrant family.
After his Vine account was hacked, Cole began to refocus his content to be more consistent with his Christian roots and upbringing.
The LaBrant Family’s YouTube account focuses on their day-to-day family life and the antics their children get up to.
Does the LaBrant Family support President Trump?
A Twitter thread from 2018 sets out different stances the LaBrant family appear to have taken on a variety of issues.
Included in this tweet are screenshots from Cole LaBrant’s now-deleted Twitter account, where he states that he did vote for Donald Trump in 2016.
Just before the US Presidential Election in 2016, YouTuber Casey Neistat took to his channel to tell his fans who he was voting for. In this video, he asked other influencers to make similar videos, encouraging their viewers to vote one way or another.
Now that the 2020 presidential election is drawing closer, this video has had a resurgence. Today Neistat posted his 2020 edition of this video.
The political affiliation of the LaBrant family had been speculated upon around the time of the 2016 election.
The LaBrant family aren’t new to being at the centre of controversy. In 2019, Cole was even called out by Martin Luther King Jr’s daughter, Bernice King.
Cole had tweeted a video of his adopted cousin offering himself up as a human footstool to allow his friends to reach the swings. As Cole’s cousin is black, this video sparked controversy.
Additionally, some YouTube viewers have taken issue with the LaBrants’ views on abortion and same-sex marriage.
So, we know that Cole LaBrant supported Trump back in 2016, but it’s unknown if he’s planning to support Trump for president again this November. Savannah’s political affiliations aren’t publicly documented at all.
On the question of whether the LaBrant family support Trump, the jury is still out. I guess we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled to see if they post any videos or Instagrams in the days leading up to 3 November.
