Christina Aguilera will release a Spanish album in 2022 entitled Pa Mis Muchachas; but does she actually speak the language?
Xtina put on a killer performance at the Latin Grammy Awards 2021 on 18 November with her Spanish single Pa Mis Muchachas ft Becky G, Nicki Nicole and Nathy Peluso.
Before the girl-power stage, she showed off her pipes with her latest drop, Somos Nada.
The singer will release her second Spanish album in 2022, making it a 22-year gap since Mi Reflejo, her first Latin record.

Does Christina Aguilera speak Spanish?
The 40-year-old previously revealed she’s faced criticism since she doesn’t look “stereotypically Latina”. She grew up with the language but no longer speaks it fluently.
However, her decision to dive into a Spanish album in 2000 indicates she was eager to learn more about her culture – she is part Irish and Ecuadorean.
“I should not have to prove my ethnicity to anyone. I know who I am,” she explains.
Regarding her upcoming album Pa Mis Muchachas, she tells Billboard:
“It’s a big deal right now, and it’s really nostalgic and part of my Latin culture and history. So this is really, really fun to get into some family roots and explore who I am now as a woman musically.”

Who are her parents?
Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York City, to mother Shelly Loraine Kearns (née Fidler) and father Fausto Xavier Aguilera.
Her father was a US soldier born in Ecuador, while Fidler has German, Irish, Welsh and Dutch ancestry. The couple divorced when the singer was only six years old.
The Lady Marmalade singer labelled her relationship with her estranged father as “pretty non-existent” and she has previously accused him of being emotionally and physically abusive.
