Mike Mora passes away aged 37

Mike Mora, a photographer and Kelis’ husband, has sadly passed away.

In October 2021, Mora announced that he had been diagnosed with stage-four stomach cancer. In talks with People, he shared his symptoms before getting checked out: “Loss of appetite. Pain in my back also started to creep in.”

“You always see people post about how life is too short. How you should reach out to those you love no matter where life has taken you. It is the truth. Don’t take your time here, your time with friends, family, for granted,” Mora told social media followers.

Sadly, on Monday (14 March), a representative for Kelis confirmed that Mike Mora had passed away.

Releasing a statement to Entertainment Tonight, Kelis’ management told the outlet: “Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away.

“We would ask all to respect Kelis and her family’s privacy as of right now. Thank you.”

Do Mike Mora and Kelis have any kids?

Mike and Kelis share two children together, a six-year-old son and a daughter who was born in September 2020. The singer also has another son, 12, from a previous relationship with Nas.

According to People, Kelis had given birth to their youngest child just 17 days prior to Mora’s stage-four stomach cancer diagnosis in 2020.

On social media last year, Mike Mora opened up about his cancer diagnosis and his children, writing: “Life is full of the most unexpected situations.

“I never thought this could happen to me. At just 36, with three kiddos, and a wife that loves me.

“I want to be able to help those that might be experiencing something like this – a life-altering disease full of questions and doubt – maybe, hopefully. By showing that it’s possible to make it through.”
