Who is Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj?

Aside from being Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj is well known as a singer in her own right.

Carol is of Afro-Indo-Trinidadian descent and was born on 24 December 1959 in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago. She comes from a large family, being the tenth of 11 children, and has 5 children of her own, including rapper, Nicki Minaj (born Onika Tanya Maraj).

Nicki’s siblings are: sister Ming, brothers Jelani and Micaiah Maraj and Brandon, who is Nicki’s half-brother.

According to her Wiki Fandom page, Carol Maraj was “24 [years old] when she arrived in New York, the Bronx, and entered Munroe College. Her husband followed six months after. She petitioned for him.”

After moving over from Tinidad and Tobago, the Maraj family spent a large portion of their life in Queens, New york.

Carol is best known for her career as a gospel singer.

Nicki Minaj’s family mourns the loss of dad, Robert Maraj

Just like his wife, Carol, Robert Maraj was also born in Saint James. This is where they first met. He is reported to have had a drug addiction earlier in his life, but had since rehabilitated and managed to get sober.

Nicki Minaj’s father, Rober Maraj passed away on Friday at the age of 64. He was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Long Island.

The Guardian reports he had been “walking along a road in Mineola on Long Island at 6.15 pm on Friday when he was hit by a car that kept going, Nassau county police said.” There have been no arrests made as of yet.

At the time of writing, Nicki Minaj has not yet released a statement about the tragic loss of her father.
