Who is Big Meech?
Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, native of southwest Detroit, was reportedly indicted on charges of heading a national drug ring that reaped $270 million in profits, known as the Black Mafia Family.

The drug ring operated in 11 states, including Detroit, Atlanta, Miami, St Louis, Los Angeles and Birmingham, Alabama.
According to The Detroit News, the Atlanta hub alone was responsible for the distribution of 2,500 kilos of illicit substances each month.
The siblings also entered the hip-hop music business as BMF Entertainment, serving as a promoter for several high-profile hip-hop artists.
BMF’s story was intriguing enough for 50 Cent to create a television show around the multimillion-dollar empire called Black Mafia Family.
When is Big Meech coming home?
Big Meech, who was scheduled to be released from Sheridan FCI in Oregon on 25 November 2031, will now be coming home in 2028.

In September 2008, The Black Mafia Family co-founder was convicted of running a nationwide continual criminal enterprise, and conspiracy to launder money instruments.
In April 2020, Big Meech, who was sentenced to 30 years, filed for compassionate release, citing the risk the coronavirus posed to his health behind bars.
On Monday, 14 June, Meech was reportedly granted an early release from prison.
According to AllHipHop, US District Judge David M Lawson agreed to reduce Big Meech’s prison sentence from 360 months to 324 months, which amounts to a three-year reduction of his original sentence.
However, Monday’s sentence reduction isn’t related to his request for compassionate release.
Big Meech met the criteria for a sentence reduction according to USSG amendments 782 and 788, which revised the drug quantity and chemical quantity tables for all drug offences.

How long has he been in jail?
Big Meech has served almost 16 years in prison with minimal issues – and during that time, he has made some positive changes.
While in prison, Big Meech has helped establish a variety of community events, including a back-to-school fun day, as well as book drives and basketball contests.
As stated in AllHipHop, Big Meech has earned his GED and completed a 24-month special management programme, in addition to finishing health awareness, money management, and parenting classes.
Meech has also revealed he wants to change the infamous “BMF” acronym for Black Mafia Family and start a new programme – called “Build More Families” – to help the African-American community.
