Love & Hip Hop fans received a blow this month as news of Apple Watts’ serious car crash circulated. Now, her family are appealing for help.
On 24 March 2022, it was revealed that the reality star had been involved in a serious car crash while driving in Baker, California, as reported by The Sun. As Apple Watts is treated in hospital for “major injuries,” her fans have been awaiting updates.
Now, Watts’ sister has launched a GoFundMe to support Apple Watts on her road to recovery. Here’s what we know.
What happened to Apple Watts?
Last month saw news of Apple Watts’ accident circulating, as confirmed by her sister, Dominique Flournoy.
Flournoy confirmed the car accident to media outlet The Shade Room. Dominique Flournoy told The Shade Room: “She is unresponsive at the moment and suffered a fractured skull, a broken spine, and a shattered arm.”
Watts was driving her Mercedes when she collided with a Ford F250 pickup truck. As a result of the impact, Watts’ car flipped multiple times and she was ejected out of the window.
Apple Watts’ sister launches GoFundMe
On 30 March, just days after Apple Watts’ accident, Dominique Flournoy launched a GoFundMe page for support. Flournoy recounted the traumatic incident:
“It’s the phone call you hope you never get. A call saying that your sister was in a terrible car accident and has been rushed to the trauma center. It’s the call that brings you to your knees, rips out your heart, and causes your mind to go to places you never, ever want to go,” Dominique writes in the page description.
Dominique explains that the “funds collected will help with medical and rehabilitation costs, as well as support for her children during her healing process.”

Dominique provides update on Apple Watts’ condition
Since the accident, Apple Watts’ sister has been providing updates on Instagram. Flournoy has reported that Apple Watts had successful surgery on her neck on 29 March 2022. She is due to have another operation on 15 April on her right eye.
Taking to Instagram Flournoy wrote: “My baby still unresponsive but stable, she will undergo surgery on the 15th for her right eye that doesn’t close all the way.”
The past few days have seen Flournoy sharing Watts’ GoFundMe page as they attempt to reach their target of $35,000. As of publication date, the page has raised over $3,800.
