YouTuber Apetor, also known as Tor Eckhoff, has reportedly been found dead in a river in Norway days after reassuring fans in a video he was alive.
Tributes from the YouTube and Twitch communities to Norwegian content creator Apetor have been all over the internet after news spread he had passed away in a tragic accident.
The YouTuber reportedly died on Friday, 26 November 2021, but fans only found out about his death on 28 November.
The sad news comes only five days after Eckhoff uploaded a video entitled I Am Not Dead, I Am 57 Today.

Apetor dead at 57: What happened?
RemoNews reports a man in his 50s was flown to Ullevål hospital in Oslo after crossing the ice in an area around Knutehytta and Kongsberg.
The incident occurred on ice near the Jakobs Dam and emergency services rushed to the scene following reports a person had attempted to walk across the frozen river.
He was transported to hospital via helicopter after fire brigade divers rescued him from the water and tried to resuscitate him.
Although RemoNews didn’t name the victim, it stated the man in his 50s hailed from Vestfold, the municipality in which Apetor’s home town Sandefjord lies.
Fans were shocked by the news of his passing since Apetor’s daredevil content regularly featured him (literally) skating on thin ice while drinking alcohol. He often ended up in the water.
Apetor’s battle with cancer
His last upload marked his 57th birthday, entitled I Am Not Dead in reference to his battle with cancer.
In November 2018, the YouTuber revealed he had been diagnosed with rectal cancer in March that year and had undergone surgery in June, after which he had to wear a colostomy bag.
Apetor clarified the condition wasn’t due to lifestyle choices but from suffering inflammatory bowel disease for many years.
Despite his diagnosis, it didn’t stop Apetor from launching himself into ice cold waters and drinking.
