Who is Maria Bartiromo?
Maria Bartiromo, 53, is a journalist, news anchor and author. She was born in New York City, where she continues to live with her husband, Jonathan Steinberg.
Bartiromo graduated from New York University (NYU) in 1989 with a degree in journalism and economics. Whilst a student at NYU, Bartiromo began her journalism career as an intern at CNN. This internship, starting in 1988, led to a five year stint at CNN as an executive producer and assignment editor.
From 1993 to 2013, Bartiromo was part of the CNBC team. She then moved to Fox Business and Fox News. Maria Bartiromo’s first TV show with Fox, Opening Bell with Maria Bartiromo, launched in 2014. Mornings with Maria started to air on Fox Business in 2015 and has aired weekdays from 6-9am.

A report by Business Insider on 22 January 2021 claimed that CEOs in business are “steering clear” of Maria Bartiromo’s show. The title of Business Insider’s piece reads: ‘Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo gets canceled by CEOs, sources say’.
Some Twitter users were confused by this Business Insider headline, thinking it meant Bartiromo’s show was pulled by the Fox CEOs. One concerned fan tweeted to Maria Bartiromo on 22 January 2021: “Was your show cancelled?”
There has been no word from Maria Bartiromo nor Fox News about her TV show being cancelled. Maria Bartiromo’s Twitter bio also still states her affiliation with Fox.
