Is Jamie Raskin going bald? Yesterday, representative Jamie Raskin gave some of the opening remarks at the beginning of Trump’s impeachment trial. However, while many were focused on politics, others were puzzled whether Raskin was wearing a yarmulke or if he has a bald spot. We take a closer look to find out.

Who is Jamie Raskin?

Jamie Raskin is the representative for Maryland’s 8th Congressional District. He was born in Washington DC on 13 December 1962.

Raskin has been in the news lately as he was named the lead house impeachment manager for the trial of former President Donald Trump.

He also serves on house committees that cover issues such as Crime, Terrorism, Security and Government reform.

Raskin is a Professor of Law Emeritus at the American University Washington College of Law. He has taught constitutional law for over 25 years.

His educational background includes a BA from Harvard College in 1983 and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School in 1987.

Jamie Raskin has also talked openly about surviving stage three colon cancer, advising everyone to make sure they attend regular checkups with medical professionals.

Twitter speculates: Is Jamie Raskin going bald?

Yesterday at Trump’s impeachment trial, representative Jamie Raskin made the opening speech, stating that for this trial, “it’s all about the facts”.

He also made an emotional comment about his son Tommy who died from suicide on New Year’s Eve.

However, some viewers were distracted by what looked like a pale spot – or a yarmulke? – on the back of his head, leading some to think Jamie Raskin is bald – or going bald.

This sparked multiple twitter comments asking: is Jamie Raskin bald?

However, others have suggested that Raskin was simply wearing a yarmulke, also known as a kippah, which is a traditional skullcap worn by Jewish men during prayer.

However, you can see in the below photo taken on 17 December 2019 that Raskin had already started losing his hair on the crown of his head a few years ago.

Although Raskin is from a Jewish background, it appears that he did not wear a religious yarmulke, but that he is in fact losing his hair.
