Who is Breanna Stewart’s wife to be? That’s the question on everybody’s lips after the Seattle Storm player became engaged to her girlfriend Marta Xargay.

Breanna Stewart is a professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women’s National Basketball Association.

In high school, Stewart was the National Gatorade Player of the Year, the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year, and a McDonald’s All-American.

The 26-year-old is a native of Syracuse, New York and this is where she attended school at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

She then went on to lead the University of Connecticut Huskies to four national championships and was named the Final Four’s most outstanding player a record four times, and was a three-time consensus national player of the year.

Breanna Stewart was the the No. 1 WNBA draft pick in 2016, joining the Seattle Storm. She scored 23 points in her debut game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Stewart has also represented her country at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is currently the reigning WNBA Finals MVP.

Who is Breanna Stewart engaged to?

The 6’4 power forward took to Instagram on Sunday evening to announce her engagement.

In a post that garnered over 65,000 likes, she wrote: “Did a thing. Another ring. She said YES. #wifey.”

The photograph showed her down on one knee in hiking spot Papago Park in Arizona, in front of her now-fiancée and fellow WNBA player Marta Xargay Casademont.

The 30-year-old from Girona, Spain wrote on her own Instagram: “Life isn’t just about the moments, it’s about who we share them with! I said YES #wifey.”

Xargay has played for Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, and currently plies her trade for the Spanish team Uni Girona CB, and the Spain women’s national basketball team.

The Spaniard has also played for USK Praha in the Czech Republic and between 2018 and 2019, Dynamo Kursk in Russia.

Leigh is a 26-year-old journalist from the north of Ireland. He studied International Journalism at Liverpool John Moores University, where he earned a 2:1 grade.
