Can you see who views your Instagram Notes? New feature explored

Instagram has rolled out its new Notes feature to users but can you actually see who views your posts?

The new Instagram offering allows users on the picture-sharing platform to share a written status with their followers that stays on their profile for 24 hours.

As users explore and test out the text feature, some are curious to know whether you can see the view count for Notes posts. Let’s take a look…

Can you see who views your Instagram Notes?

No. Unfortunately, Instagram’s new Notes feature does not include an option to see who has viewed users’ status posts.

Unlike Instagram Stories, which offers users a breakdown of the accounts that have seen a particular post, the view count of Notes isn’t available. When users upload a note status to their account, they can opt to send it out to either mutual followers or close friends.

For those unfamiliar with the close friends feature, it’s a list of accounts individual users can select to share more private posts with. As per LifeWire, there is no known limit on close friends meaning it can be as small as one or two people or many more.

As users can choose whether to share a note with their mutual following or close friends, anyone in either selected category could potentially view it. However, users’ following or close friends won’t be notified when a Notes post has been uploaded, meaning unless they check the feature, they may not see it.

Instagram Accounts Are Being Closed

Users may get an idea based on their replies

While Instagram users can’t see who has viewed their note status, they may be able to build a picture of who has by looking at their replies.

Once a user note is posted, their followers can choose to reply to the status. When tapping on a Notes upload, you will be redirected to a private conversation with the user who shared the post.

Therefore, if you receive a reply to your Note post you’ll know that particular user saw it. The more replies you receive, the better understanding you’ll have of just who has seen your post.

Instagram users hope feature rolls out in future updates

While users on the picture-sharing platform aren’t currently able to see the view count of their Notes, many have shared their desire for the feature to be added.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: “I feel like Instagram Notes should have view count.”

A second echoed: “Can we at least see the views [on] Notes? Pretty please, @instagram.”

Others have urged Instagram to roll out the view count for Notes in a future update:
