4 orthopedic surgeons were asked what they would ‘never do’ and they all shared deadly activities

Everything we do in life carries some risk of injury, but avoiding dangerous activities will lower your chance of having an accident.

Four orthopedic surgeons, who specialize in the surgery of bones, joints, and muscles, have shared one thing they would ‘never do’ – and their answers will make you think twice before doing certain things.

4 orthopedic surgeons share one thing they would ‘never do’

They all work at Orthopedic Specialists, a clinic in Palm Harbor, Florida, and advise against doing these activities as they often require surgery following a serious accident.

Surgeon 1 – Dive into unknown water

Speaking on TikTok, first surgeon said he would never dive into unknown water, because you never know what could be lurking underneath. Underwater hazards like rocks often aren’t visible and can cause serious injuries including broken bones, fractures, concussions and damage to the spinal cord. The water could also be shallower than anticipated, which can lead to similar injuries.

Surgeon 2 – Get on a motorcycle

The next surgeon would never get on a motorcycle, an activity which causes so many accidents even if you are an experienced driver. Common motorbike injuries include head trauma, friction wounds, leg or back injuries and burns. The risk is even worse if drivers do not wear proper equipment, including leathers clothing and a helmet.

Surgeon 3 – Not wear a seatbelt

The third surgeon said he would never not wear a seatbelt in a car, which the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. It keeps you secure inside the vehicle and stops you from being ejected. The lap belt should go across your hips, not your stomach and the shoulder belt should rest over the middle of your chest, away from your neck.

Surgeon 4 – Drive with feet hanging out

The final orthopedic surgeon would never drive a jeep or car that has no doors with his foot hanging out the side. Having any body parts outside of a vehicle while driving, including the legs, arms and head, can result in serious injuries. For the same reason, you should never let your dog stick its head out the window while driving either.

The video comes days after another doctor shared four things he would never let his kids do, including have a trampoline.
