Dad shook by reality of what a full glass of wine really looks like for his wife
After his wife asked for a “full glass of wine”, one father and husband was left shaken as he learned the hard truth about alcohol in the 21st century.
No matter where you are in the world, alcohol plays a part in social gatherings, attitudes, and even political policy. All that happens with the knowledge that alcohol is one of the leading causes of cancer and it inhibits the brain’s production of memories.
What a glass of wine looks like
We tend to ignore the glaring issues surrounding alcohol because of the euphoric feelings it inspires in social situations. Still, there is no denying the concerning health detriments.
It’s suggested that humans drink no more than 14 units of alcohol a week, which equates to roughly six medium glasses of wine, six medium beers, or seven double measures of spirit. One mom on TikTok did not get the memo.
In a video posted by Brady Medearis (@bradymedearis), which has since accumulated 12 million views and 1.7 million likes, Brady’s dad was in disbelief as he lifted up his wife’s large wine glass.
Pouring the rose wine into the glass, Brady’s dad only filled it to the same level a restaurant would. Any wine drinkers reading this will know that restaurant wine and home wine levels are very different.
Upon offering his wife the beverage, she replied “There’s barely anything in there” as she demanded he fill it up. On his second attempt, Brady’s dad poured in half a bottle, which equated to roughly half a glass.
“I would love a full glass of wine please and thank you,” she said, earning “Are you kidding me” in response.
The mom eventually received what she had asked for, but not before her husband could offer some keen advice.
“I just opened that bottle up and that is it,” he said. “You need a smaller glass.”
All that considered, Brady’s mum might be in need of a revolutionary hangover cure.
The hilarious clip was the perfect example of ‘girl math’
The comment section of Brady’s TikTok quickly turned into a game of “What constitutes a drinking problem” versus “Let the girl drink her wine.”
“When I was at the start of my alcoholism a glass like this is what kicked it off. I started having 4 glasses a night& it was 4 BOTTLES,” one person revealed.
Another said: “If he can drink an entire bottle/can of beer Mom can have the bottle of wine… GIRL MATH.”
A nurse got involved with: “From now on when I ask patients how much they drink and they say “just a glass of wine with dinner. THIS is all I’ll be able to think about.”
