Italian man adores American ‘trait’ that makes dating women so much easier
Not everyone is so lucky to find someone who checks all their boxes to go out with. But, it can be especially difficult for foreigners unfamiliar with the local culture to date people with similar dating preferences.
While a Latina woman says dating American men is hard because she believes they lack initiative, an Italian man has an opposing opinion about women in the U.S.
Italian man adores an American ‘trait’
TikTok user Jashi is an Italian living in the U.S. He vlogs about his life in a foreign country and the cultural shocks he experiences as a non-American. But dating hasn’t been an issue for him thanks to American women.
In one of his videos, he admires a trait in women in the U.S. that makes dating “so much easier’ compared to meeting ladies in Italy.
The content creator says the ladies in the U.S. don’t wait to be asked out. They approach a man they are interested in or make it obvious when they want to be asked out.

“Let’s say, they are open about showing the interest about (in) a man. Meaning, giving out very specific signs,” he says, before imitating how American women usually approach him.
He claims this has happened to him in “all of America”. His Italian friend had a similar experience while visiting the U.S. when the “most beautiful” woman from a group of partygoers walked up to him and started a conversation.
On dating women in his own country
Though American women’s openness makes it easy to navigate dating in another country, it could also take away the mystery and “charm of does she like me or doe she not like me” he says.
As for dating women in his country, Jashi says men have to do all the work because Italian women don’t show any signs of being interested or are hard to spot.
In his culture, men approach women and take all the initiative, it seems. That’s why he is used to talking to all the women not knowing what they think.
He would have to approach them and then find out if they are interested or not. “We have the tendency of literally talking to all the girls because they don’t give out a lot of signs or they are hard to see, ” he says.
Some users think there is truth in his opinion, while others believe it solely depends on the individual and not the culture.
One commented: “First of all, your accent in America would have me on the floor. In general, though, I think it has to do with Americans being more outgoing, optimistic, and ready to play.”
“Im Italian and have been married 26 years. Im old school. However, youre correct,” added another.
“You are just more popular in America because theres less competition,” wrote one user implying that not all men get approached by women in the US.
