Everything Olympian eats in a day, but the restrictive diet isn’t for everyone

Have you ever wondered what an Olympic athlete eats daily to stay fit and strong? American pole vaulter and two-time World Champion, Katie Moon, makes her diet look so easy.

We are what we are. That’s why nutritionists and doctors recommend a wholesome diet that includes all essential nutrients. While healthy food habits can increase longevity, ultra-processed foods are shown to have negative effects.

What a ‘gluten-free’ Olympian eats in a day

Katie took to TikTok last year to break down her diet in response to queries about what she eats daily. She started by saying she “hates” to cook.

The “gluten-free” professional also suffers from Celiac disease – an autoimmune disorder that prevents the body from absorbing essential nutrients from food.

Katie’s day starts with Chike – coffee rich in protein, which she has been drinking for years. Then, she eats her favorite cereals with yogurt for breakfast.

She always carries a protein shake along with a protein bar with her to keep herself energized during the training.

Her lunch typically includes a rice bowl. On days when she’s starved the burrito bowl from Costco is “quick and easy” to prepare. Katie also eats egg bites from the same store.

Dinner is one meal she cooks, and in the video depicting her daily diet, she’s seen preparing a tilapia meal with a mango salsa.

One of the most common questions I get asked is- “What does your diet look like?” Or- “How do you eat?” This is pretty much it! I hate cooking, but especially having to be gluten-free, it’s super important to eat at home as much as I can so that I know exactly what I’m consuming. Katie Moon’s diet is not for everyone

As specified earlier, the diet Katie follows restricts her gluten intake owing to her health condition. She strongly recommends checking with your dietician if you plan to switch to her diet.

As for an ideal breakfast, a nutritionist suggests a wholesome meal full of nutrients and minerals. A balanced breakfast includes protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and fats.

Certified nutritionist Emily Van Eck�tells The Focus: I think the absolute ideal breakfast is a small bowl of beans in broth, topped with 1 or 2 eggs (cooked however you want them), 1/4 cup of fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut, and topped with hot sauce.

Oats and eggs are also considered healthy options to start your day as they are packed with protein and good cholesterol.
