Women bury sausages the night before their wedding, and it’s the ‘weirdest’ tradition yet
There are numerous wedding traditions across the world, passed on for generations, bound in superstition. But had you heard of burying a sausage in the garden the night before the big day?
A wedding is one of the most significant life events and people would trade anything in the world to make it perfect in their definition. No one really knows who started the new meaty tradition going around on TikTok, but it has supposedly worked for some!

Brides bury sausage the night before wedding
Traditions such as the groom not seeing the bride in her wedding dress or something old, something new. something borrowed, and something blue doesn’t bring enough good luck, it seems.
Women think burying a sausage in the garden the night before the main day will ward off their worst nightmare – the rain.
Nothing could ruin a perfectly planned wedding worse than an unexpected rain, so Gen Z and Millenial brides have resorted to the new tradition to evade the common threat.
TikTok is full of videos featuring the bizarre trend that’s left many scratching their heads as brides and their gangs are seen digging up the earth hoping for a perfect sunny day.
Going by the videos, and because the origin of the trend isn’t clear, it appears as if only women are partaking in the lesser-known tradition.
Some claim the tradition worked for them
If only a sausage is all it took to stop the rain, but the bizarre tradition has proved lucky for some love birds, as they were able to get hitched in pleasant weather.
The trend involving the brides and sausage has gathered plenty of funny reactions, but those who achieved positive results are urging future brides to try it, too.
When one user joked: “Maybe look for weather forecast?”, another user replied: “I tried this and it worked for me!”
“My friend did this a few weeks ago in Cornwall! Storms all week- buried the sausage day before and lovely sun for her wedding day then back to storms!,” claimed one.
One comment read: “I did this!! Week leading up to my wedding it was heavy snow! Burried my sausage and it was a beautiful day!”
