Carnelian jewelry can be a major red flag when hanging out with friends, says crystal expert
Women are on the lookout for people wearing Carnelian jewelry after a crystal expert warned against bringing the love crystal around your partner.
In recent years, astrology, crystals, and other spiritual practices have become hugely popular on social media. Some use them to combat dwindling energy or revive a fallen relationship, while others simply splash the cash on crystals for their aesthetic-enhancing properties.
Carnelian is the crystal of love
Cheating is but one of the many ways a relationship can come to an end, and annoyingly, the reasonings behind it are often a mystery. Though some would lead you to believe that cheating is a result of neglect, perhaps a naturally occurring mineral is to blame.
Crystal expert and seller Liza (@lizavetts) recently went viral on TikTok after she outlined why carnelian is a somewhat controversial crystal. Her post has since amassed millions of views and nearly 300k likes.
In the clip, Liza performed a skit that showed the moment she introduced her boyfriend to a friend who was suddenly wearing Carnelian jewelry. She dubbed it a “red flag”, leaving many to question why Carnelian is such a divisive mineral.
Carnelian is a brownish-red mineral with a vibrant history across the world. To ancient Arab peoples, the stone was one for kings, though Napoleon Bonaparte is said to have worn it for luck.
In modern spiritual circles, Carnelian is often used as the ultimate love stone, whether that be bringing it towards you or invoking more self-love from within. As such, it has come to represent both the positive and negative aspects of love.
Though Liza was not suggesting that all Carnelian lovers are out to get your man, she did suggest that choosing to wear the crystal around another person’s partner is morally questionable.
Other crystals associated with love include Rose quartz, Aventurine, Morganite, Lapis Lazuli, Garnet, and Clear Quartz.

Because Liza’s TikTok was mysterious to those unaware of Carnelian’s power, lots of TikTok users were left confused and wondering why they should stay away from those with red-stoned chains.
Her video also forced Carnelian apologists out of the woodwork, with many suggesting its capabilities go far further than mere love.
“I usually try to put on carnelian before I interact with anyone, to help increase my confidence a bit and I have bad anxiety with interacting with new people. lol,” one person said.
“Carnelian is also used to give confidence, self-worth, love, creativity. Guess it depends on your intentions with it,” another said.
A third revealed: “wore a carnelian bracelet once to a VIP and I got the attention I wanted. As soon as I got into the car, I kid you not that bracelet snapped and beads went flying everywhere XD.”
