87-year-old’s ‘biggest regret’

The elderly man was stopped by TikTok user Yair Brachiyahu, who interviews people about their best life advice.

“What is something you regret most in your life?” he asked, to which the 87-year-old said: “Probably that I didn’t stay at home as much with my kids.”

“I played a lot of basketball and I probably wasn’t home as much as I should have been,” he continued.

The man told everyone to be present with their children because they grow up so fast and you don’t want to miss those special moments.

‘Cherish the moments’

“When you’re young, sometimes you don’t realize you should cherish the moments and the experiences like you should,” his wife added.

She said life goes by so quickly and you should enjoy “every phase” of it because before you know it, your children will be all grown up.

Advice for your younger self

The interviewer then asked what the 87-year-old would tell his younger self if he had the chance, and we can all take his advice.

“I’d tell him just keep going steady. Keep at it. You just take a day at a time. You can’t go any faster than that,” he said.

His wife would tell herself not to worry about the little things so much, just concentrate on the most important goals.

We spend too much time stressing about things we can’t change and not enough time enjoying the true joys of life.
