What does mephobia mean?
According to Urban Dictionary, the term describes the fear of being so awesome that the world can’t take it.
As explained in several entries on the site, those who suffer with mephobia are fearful that the human race will face its demise as it cannot handle their awesomeness.
Entries defining the word date to as early as 2011, with more recent definitions from 2020 showing it still has the same meaning more than a decade on.
While the phrase appears to have taken off online, as explained by Types Of Phobia, mephobia does not appear to be a real fear.

MUAWK has previously addressed meaning behind her mephobia face tattoo
In May 2020, a couple of months after the TikToker got the ink tatted, MUAWK addressed the tattoo’s meaning in a video.
In the post, she explained that commenters often ask questions regarding her tattoo, so she thought to make a video that they can refer to.
She also added that her tattoo’s meaning had the same as the definitions on Urban Dictionary: “It means the fear of being so awesome that the human race can’t handle it and everyone dies.”
While she didn’t reflect on a reason why she chose to get the inking, in her YouTube video getting the tattoo, as she reflected on the terms’ meaning to her tattoo artist, she admitted she thought it was “hilarious.”
