Dating expert pinpoints three ‘texting secrets’ that men find hard to resist
Gone are the days when people dated to find “the one”. In today’s world, finding a romantic partner is tricky and every move counts.
Considering texting is a prominent aspect of dating, there are a couple of “secrets” that never fail to prompt responses from men. So ladies, take note. Dating and relationship expert Matthew Hussey says doing just three things can change a man’s perception of you.

Three ‘texting secrets’ that men can’t resist
Matthew Hussey is a popular British dating and relationship coach. He’s best known for his series ‘Get The Guy’ on YouTube as well as his podcast, which he uses to help women navigate relationships and dating lives.
He’s the New York Times bestselling author and has appeared in television shows including Ready for Love, So Cosmo, and The Single Wives among others.
In one of his videos on YouTube, he reveals three “texting secrets”, proven to get any man’s attention with the least effort.
Don’t stick to text messages, share images
Humans are naturally drawn to visuals more than words, at least the vast majority are.
So, when you’re hitting up a guy, don’t just say “Hey, what are you doing?” – a common yet boring way to strike up a conversation, according to Matthew.
Instead, share a funny picture, a meme and any visual the person on the receiving end can relate to. You’re guaranteed to get a quicker response.
Ditch questions
The dating expert says you should avoid sending text messages that are questions and be sure of what you want.
It’s as simple as saying: “Let’s meet up for a coffee” instead of: “Do you want to meet over a coffee?”
Don’t use a question mark and allow them to reject, but be certain as it communicates a deeper level of confidence.
Define your standards better
It’s always important to communicate your standards better with a dater – a trait that attracts a lot of men, according to Matthew.
He uses his example to explain the third secret. Years ago, Matthew used to see a woman casually while traveling between cities and asked her once if she wanted to “get together” in the middle of his schedule when he had an hour off.
The lady’s response was polite yet cheeky and it changed his perception of her. She simply said: “I’m really not the one-hour slot kind of a girl. But if you want to take me out on a date this week, that would be lovely”, followed by a winking emoticon.
As well as making it clear that she deserved more than just an hour of hanging out casually, she also implied that she would be available if the date was better planned.
