McDonalds fans start petition for the return of throwback sweet treat
McDonalds fans are still ravenous for the throwback Cinnamelts which were allegedly discontinued around 2017.�
From the secret menu to seasonal specials, McDonalds has a whole host of incredible foods that rarely see the light of day. Its not all sullen though as the brand sometimes revives past creations, much like the recent resurgence of the breakfast bagel.�
We demand the cinnamon melts!
McDonalds reportedly launched the Cinnamelts in 2007 to a great public response. They were an instant hit and were comprised of fluffy dough covered in cinnamon, sugar, and cream cheese icing.�
The cinnamon melts were then discontinued around 2016/2017, leading to public outcry and a very desperate petition from fan Amy Valle.�
Demanding for the Cinnamelts to be added back onto the menu, Amy wrote in 2017: They have discontinued selling Cinnamelts and many customers are upset. In order to make us customers happy they should bring back Cinnamelts.
In six years, the petition has accumulated 17,640 signatures of the 25k goal. 54 people also signed this week, but its not looking promising for the return of the cinnamon melts.

Though the petition is yet to be successful, there is an obvious demand for the throwback product. Many comments beneath the petition described pretty dire circumstances, with one person even saying they were considering moving to taste them again.
One person wrote: I’m signing this because it’s what I crave when I’m on my period and I need it back in my life.
My girlfriend has spiraled into a deep depression without these in her life. I miss her warm touch and affection, another wrote, as a third added, I used to eat these when I was younger. They were so good I would spend lots of money on this !! Bring it back !! My nostalgia needs it!
Someone else added: This was my childhood! These never should have been discontinued and I seriously wonder if the recipe was sold to Cinnabon and that’s why they haven’t come back.”
