Survey reveals ‘hopeless romantic’ American state where people get ‘intimate’ less than once a year
Of all the American states, people from one specific region don’t shy away from admitting to being romantics.
A survey conducted by One Poll to explore the theme of “ever-changing relationships” discovered some fascinating aspects of dating among Americans, including how many serious relationships an average person has had and how often they get intimate in a week.
People from ‘hopeless romantic’ state wait before getting intimate
The survey studied dating patterns among 5000 Americans equally distributed across all the states and people from Utah identified themselves as “hopeless romantics”.
The results of the study claim: “Respondents in Utah (35%) are most likely to identify as ‘hopeless romantics.'”, in addition to another interesting fact associated with the residents of the above-mentioned state.
When about 29% of participants from different states said they got “intimate” with their current partner within one month of dating, respondents from Utah stood different.
31% of them said they wait “at least” a year before being intimate with their romantic partners.
The other American states as hopelessly romantic as Utah are Oklahoma at 34%, followed by West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Missouri at 32% respectively.
How Americans date
The study further touches on typical dating scenarios in America while considering the length of serious relationships, the number of romantic partners a person has had, who is the most ‘jealous type’ etc.
Reportedly, one in five Americans has never been in a relationship that lasted over three years and an average person has ‘seriously’ dated four people in their lifetime.
An average American gets intimate thrice a week, while 45% of the respondents admitted to moving to a new state to “revamp their love life.”
New Hampshire tops the list by having the “highest number” of people with relationships that have lasted more than 15 years and daters form California or Georgia tend to be the “jealous type.”
