Dentist suggests a simple 3-day detox method

Dr. Joyce Kahng took to TikTok to reveal a 3-day detox method that is believed to help you get rid of bad breath.

This is for those who think their breath stinks despite using mouthwash every day. Follow the below instructions for three days while brushing your teeth twice daily without fail.

Restricted Diet – Refrain from eating garlic onions and drinking alcohol and coffee while you’re doing the detox. The dentist also advises against smoking.

Use Tongue Scraper – Cleaning your tongue with a scraper twice daily is a must while you’re detoxing.

Gargle with Therabreath – Twice a day, ensure your gargle with Therabreath – an oral rinse.

In addition to the above method, it’s important to drink a lot of water.

Potential reasons why bad breath isn’t going away

If you’re suffering from bad breath no matter what you do, there could be underlying issues causing it.

The TikTok dentist explained in another video that tartar, an accumulation of plaque and oral debris around your teeth and under the gums could bad odor. It can be removed with professional dental cleaning.

Another possible reason is the untreated cavity, as it can harbor bacteria, thus resulting in bad breath.

Tonsil stones, which aren’t easily visible to the naked eye and are found under the fold of tonsils are another major factor contributing to foul-smelling breath.

The third potential reason may take you by surprise. Dr. Joye says the bad breath can also be caused by an imbalance in your gut as the smell can travel within your system.
