Woman drops her phone in the ocean then hires a diver to retrieve it

After dropping her phone into the harbour a holidaymaker hilariously sought to retrieve it using a local diver and a whole lot of luck.

In the modern age, our phones are (sadly) like an extension of our arms. We rarely go anywhere without our tech buddies. As such, when we lose them, chaos breaks loose and wed do just about anything to get them back.

Her phone nearly experienced a watery death

Best friends Mea (@__pinaprincess) and Jaylee (@mspocketsfull) were on a recent trip to Florida when disaster struck. Though the TikTok footage did not capture the hilarious moment, its assumed that Jaylee knocked her phone off the table and straight into the water.

Our server gave us a local divers contact so we called him up, the voiceover explained, showcasing the business card for West Coast Hull Diving.

Thankfully, the diver was able to get out to them in just 30 minutes for the grand cost of $50. Considering a replacement would be over 10 times more, it was a pretty good deal.

After a quick dive in his wetsuit, the expert was able to retrieve the device with ease. Shockingly, the device was still functional and Jaylle popped it into a box of rice to aid in the drying process.

Despite the content creator’s attempt to save her device, experts at Apple actually warn against the method as doing so could allow small particles of rice to damage your iPhone.

Social media was shocked that the diver got the phone back

Mea and Jaylees social media followers were shocked that the latter managed to rescue her phone from almost certain death.

One person wrote: I feel like the restaurant and the diver business are working together knowing people drop their phones and end up splitting the money.

Another said: The fact your phone still works after being submerged like that while I dropped mine in my sink for .5 sec and it refuses to work.
