Americans have just one thing to say about British Chinese takeaway

American foodies are taking to social media with a singular complaint about the state of British Chinese takeaway.

Americans and Brits are constantly feuding on social media about the wildest things. Though the social stratosphere has been relatively calm as of late, it turns out the American British divide is alive and well.

Rivalry across the pond

You might remember that last year a heated debate was started after people discovered that British people say Get a Chinese instead of getting Chinese food. The world was divided on the issue and its still debated to this day.

Luckily, this latest trend is not about the semantics but instead about the actual content of British Chinese takeout food. Essentially, Americans are astounded by how bland it is, how unappealing it looks, and what the hell is that curry sauce thing?

Food influencer Nicole Brennan posted a video last year after she tried British Chinese takeaway for the very first time. She first tried the curry sauce, which is a massive point of contention amongst Americans, and salt and pepper chips.

Was not expecting it to taste like that, wheres the flavor, she questioned before tucking into chicken fried rice. Literally tastes of nothing, no hint of flavor, how is that possible?

Though the chow mein was a little better, she still ultimately ranked the meal a four out of ten.

More opinions on British Chinese takeout

Things are considerably less polite on Twitter, now called X, as one person wrote: Gotta say british chinese takeaway is an absolute abomination but it looks so fucking good at the same time.

There isn’t ONE grain of seasoning in that whole dish what the hell, someone replied, as another person added, Nah this looks ass.

Someone else said: This the s**t i make when i only have 4 half-empty boxes of frozen meals and need to eat smth asap
