Bodybuilder is instantly shut down by over 20 women in dating show gone wrong

A bodybuilder struggled to find a date when over 20 dating show contestants turned him down after his introduction video explained his extreme commitment to the sport.

Over 20 people turn down bodybuilder on game show

In an old episode of Take Me Out, a UK dating game show, a bachelor named James had to impress a panel of thirty women through a series of videos about him.

If the women like what they see, they keep a light on and are in with a chance of being picked to go on a date by the bachelor.

James introduced himself as a bodybuilder from Stoke-On-Trent, and he then quickly struggles to find a successful date as more than 20 women turn off their lights.

In his introduction video, James explained that he is a “confident, fit guy looking for a natural, cute girl to cuddle up with.”

The bachelor continued: “You’ll often find me in front of a mirror posing as I am a professional bodybuilder. “

Many of the women then proceeded to turn off their lights, and even more so when James explained that one of the biggest parts of bodybuilding is the fake tan process.

The sportsman joked: “I have to have the most bronzed body on stage, everything is tanned. Yes, everything.”

Contestants justified why they turned the bodybuilder down

When questioned by the dating show host as to why so many women turned off their lights, some women explained that it was James’ posing that put them off, while others suggested it was his lifestyle.

A contestant named Jenny explained that she turned her light off because James clarified he was looking for a “natural” girl.

James (@shentfituk on Instagram) shared a throwback clip of the Take Me Out episode, in which the girls justify their reasoning for turning him down.

Prior to the introduction video being shown to the contestants, most of the women had kept their lights turned on for James. This suggests that it may have been his dedication to bodybuilding that turned some of the women off.

A clip of the show episode has been recently shared on TikTok, which has so far reached over 343,000 views, more than 3k likes, and a comment section full of debate.

A user named @Adam Gallagher commented: “There are multiple reasons why women dont actually like a massively muscular guy. One reason is because they love themselves more than anything.”

Another comment by @Alexzartisthull jokingly agreed, suggesting that the reason he struggled to find a date is because “he’ll love himself more.”

Reasons why bodybuilders might struggle to date

A Men’s Health article titled ‘Why Bodybuilders Find It Hard to Find Love’, explains why dating when youre also a professional bodybuilder is “near impossible.”

A three-time 212 Olympian named John Jewett explains that bodybuilding is a selfish endeavor. Youre making sacrifices yourself, but whoever you have in your life, whether it’s your spouse, girlfriend, or your friends, they’re making those same sacrifices along with you.”

The professional states that bodybuilding is just 24/7 all involving, and suggests that the commitment to the sport is difficult enough when only worrying about yourself, and therefore getting in a relationship further complicates this.

This could therefore explain why many of the dating game show contestants turned off their lights for bodybuilder James, because not many people can handle that kind of commitment.
