Before and after images of the Barbie Tox trend take over TikTok
TikTok is full of images showing the results of a cosmetic procedure called Trap Tox, Aka Barbie Tox. The procedure is yet another beauty trend that social media users are obsessed with, although few people know that it was originally a treatment used to relieve neck pain.
Stassi Schroeder praised the medical procedure in her latest Instagram post saying she will ‘never not get Barbie Tox’, which sparked a frenzy of TikTok users showing off their before and after results of the procedure.

What is Barbie Tox and how does it work?
Trap Tox is a Botox procedure and it is medically used to relieve pain or tension in the neck area.
It requires getting Botox injections in the Trapezius muscles covering the upper back, shoulder, and neck region.
It paralyzes the muscles by cutting its contact with the nerve. Eventually, the muscles weaken and shrink, thus making the shoulder look smaller. When the shoulders shrink, the neck naturally looks longer.

Like all other Botox treatments, Barbie Tox is temporary and to retain the results, one may have to get a large number of units injected into their upper back as frequently as once in three months.
The procedure doesn’t have any major side effects but must be administered by a licensed professional. Any issues with the procedure can result in permanent paralysis of the muscles and cause severe migraines.
Dr. Acharya told CNN that she is worried about non-professionals conducting the procedure incorrectly as well as the impact of the beauty trend on the younger population. Drawing attention to countries where cosmetic procedures are unregulated, the doctor said:
“So shockingly anyone can administer botulinum toxin injections. That could be a beautician or hairdresser with no clinical experience, no anatomy knowledge. It really does worry me.
Before and after pictures take over TikTok
Several TikTok users have documented their Barbie Tox journey by sharing pictures of their upper backs before the treatment and after, to show the changes in their frame.
The difference from the procedure is evident in almost every video. The bulky muscles are visibly reduced in after pictures, making the neck look slim and longer.
Featuring the before and after picture of Barbie Tox, a TikTok doctor explained in the video how the procedure is a “fan-favorite” for relieving pain, as well as achieving a slim look.
