Muni Long’s ‘Nobody knows me like you do’ song is TikTok’s latest obsession
TikTok users are obsessed with a song containing the line “Nobody knows you like I do” which is quickly taking over the app.
It’s the latest anthem to go viral in 2024, following Cordelia O’Driscoll’s Little Life, a feel-good song about appreciating every day.
‘Nobody knows me like you do’
The song is called Made For Me by an American singer and songwriter called Muni Long. She sings about a lover who is perfect for her, and it’s a match made in heaven.
“The smell of your perfume/ I thought I was immune/ Lookin’ around this room/ Can’t help but see the traces of you/ This moment is surreal/ I can’t put into words how I feel,” it begins.
Then comes the chorus, which is the part that has gone viral on TikTok: “Nobody knows me like you do/
Nobody gon’ love me quite like you.”
The track was released in September 2023, but it’s suddenly taken over TikTok months later and reached number one on Apple Music’s R&B chart.
A trend is circling the app that sees people walking towards the camera and dancing while mouthing the lyrics.
Get to know Muni Long
Priscilla Renea Hamilton, known as Muni Long, is a singer from Gifford, Florida, who rose to fame posting covers on YouTube.
The 35-year-old released her debut studio album,�Jukebox, in 2009 before writing songs for a number of huge artists. She co-wrote Rihanna’s California King Bed, Fifth Harmony’s Worth It, Kelly Clarkson’s Love So Soft and Pitbull’s Timber.
Long then returned to recording in 2018 and released her second album Coloured, which expanded into the soul genre.
Her 2022 single Hrs and Hrs reached the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and she signed a deal with Def Jam Recordings. The track also received a Grammy for Best R&B Performance and was part of her third album�Public Displays of Affection.
TikTok users are obsessed
The track is quickly becoming one of January’s biggest TikTok songs, and it looks like this one will be here to stay over the coming months.
One person wrote on Twitter/X: “Muni Long has done irreparable damage to my brain. Cus I cant stop singing that damn song.”
“That ‘nobody knows me like you do’ song has me HOOKED,” said another.
A third person added: “All thats playing in my head is nobody knows me like you do from TikTok. That’s all I’ve been singing in my head the last 3 days.”
