Latest iPhone tech is a shortcut straight back to the ’90s
Its always fascinating to see the latest innovations in the world of technology and at the 2024 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Clicks Creator Keyboard, a new accessory for iPhones, was unveiled which has a distinctive retro vibe and is a throwback to the button-operated phones of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Meet the Clicks Creator Keyboard
Officially unveiled on January 4, 2024, ahead of the CES 2024 event, the Clicks Creator Keyboard is a first-of-its-kind accessory that adds to the typing capabilities of certain iPhone models with a distinctively retro feel.
Co-created by Michael Fisher (aka MrMobile on YouTube), the innovative piece of technology frees up vital screen space and offers a tactile and satisfying typing experience with the use of real buttons and iOS keyboard shortcuts.
In Q1 of 2024, Clicks will be releasing models of the Creator Keyboard for the iPhone 14 Pro, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max while in Q2, versions of the accessory will be launched for additional models such as the iPhone 14 and 15.
The product attaches to your iPhone through its charging port – Apples Lightning port on the iPhone 14 and USB-C port on the iPhone 15.
Charging is still possible with the keyboard attached as it features its own ports on the bottom for the various charging cables while the Clicks Creator Keyboard is also compatible with wireless chargers.

Drawbacks include cost and size
While the Clicks Creator Keyboard is the ideal product for anyone who misses the days when texting on a phone was done with physical buttons, the accessory is potentially a little on the pricy side depending on your budget.
For the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro, the Founders Edition of the keyboard is priced at $139 USD while the version for the iPhone 15 Pro Max currently costs $159 USD.
On top of that, the product also makes already large phones even bigger, making the struggle of fitting your phone into your pocket even more difficult.
The length of the case for the iPhone 14 Pro is 188.26mm (7.4 inches) while the iPhone 15 Pro version is 188.45mm (7.41 inches) and the iPhone 15 Pro Max edition is a whopping 204.1mm (8 inches).
And finally, the current range of Clicks Creator Keyboard is not a Made for MagSafe product. Some MagSafe devices did work in testing but not all according to the FAQ section on Clicks website, although plans are being discussed for a MagSafe-compatible version in the future.

Social media reacts
The Clicks Creator Keyboard has certainly earned plenty of attention since it was unveiled earlier this month with many offering their thoughts on the device on social media.
One Instagram user said: I want this… I want this now! Super excited to get my Clicks. Is it Spring yet?
While a second added: This is what ex-BlackBerry users have been waiting for. However a big percentage of us moved to Android, so you capture that market I highly recommended you create a version for Android phones.
This was a message echoed by another commenter: I would buy one for Samsung. Its sick.
Not everyone was quite so convinced, particularly around the price: Thinks *Ill get it if its under $70* – sees $140 price tag& damn.
While this commenter was one of several who called for a MagSafe version: Would need MagSafe to make it work for me!
And finally, this Instagram user noted how large the product will make your iPhone: 8-inch-long iPhone will no longer fit in your pocket. Horrible product.
