Terrifying image shows moment ‘ghost’ of a ‘Hawaiian warrior’ is caught on camera

An experienced runner was competing in a marathon when she allegedly ran past the “ghost” of a Hawaiian warrior and the spine-chilling moment was captured in a picture.

The supposed sighting dates back to 2019, which Kay Borlies has detailed in her blog. Kay is a mother, director of arts, and a professional runner trained since she was 14.

Unknown entity in terrifying photo alleged as ‘ghost’ of a warrior

Four years ago, Kay was a part of one of the toughest marathon races taking place in Oahu, Hawaii.

The runners were required to run a grueling 20-mile loop five times to finish the HURT 100-mile race. Kay described the race as “brutal” in her blog, owing to the water crossing, stereo, rocky incline, and cliffs on the path.

The runner was able to continue with the marathon despite the above-mentioned obstacles until she injured her leg during the second lap and had to take a step out of the race.

She returned home to regroup with her running mates when one of them named Cassie heard back from her mother regarding a few pictures from the race she had shared with her.

Kay claims in her blog that one of the photos capturing her back depicted a “dark figure dressed in a cloak moving past” her while she was running.

Footage capturing the same moment allegedly shows the unknown entity emerge all of a sudden and walk past the runner. But neither Kay nor her friend recollects encountering such a figure during their run. Upon digging deeper into rumors associated with the rainforest, Kay came to know that it’s known for “ghosts” of deceased Hawaiian warriors, also known as “Night Marchers.”

Local people criticize the runner over the alleged sighting

Kay’s social media post featuring the creepy picture wasn’t met with kind comments as the local people called her out for claiming that it shows a Night Marcher. It is believed witnessing the spirit will bring bad luck and even cause a “violent death.”

The legend holds that the ghosts of warriors roam about the forest at night to “protect” the people who are extremely scared to look at them. Although their intentions are harmless, looking at them means wishing death upon oneself.

The Hawaiian people believe one can save themselves from the ghosts by either stripping naked and lying on the ground face first or peeing on themselves. Kay didn’t do either.

When she went public with her story, the localities accused her of coming up with a false narrative about Night Marchers, while she defended herself using the photo with the dark entity as proof.

The locals wished Kay had met the ghost of the warrior for real and died a “violent death.” But the runner plans on competing in the HURT 100 Miler again and isn’t afraid of bumping into her “old friend.”
