Realtor’s fence trick will blow your mind

If you’re looking to buy a house in a neighborhood full of dogs that bark loudly, San Antonio-based realtor Tylen Taylor recommends the fence trick, which is easy to do.

In his popular video, the relator slams the fence gate hard while exiting the property. The overlay text reads: “Don’t forget to do this when you buy your house.”

He proceeds to explain: “So, I usually do that whenever a client tells me that they do not want to live in any neighborhood where there are noisy dogs, tons of barking, and things like that.”

The loud noise created by slamming the door would prompt dogs in the neighborhood to react if there are any. Tylen’s logic explains there aren’t any loud dogs around the property featured in his video as you don’t hear any of them barking after the door shuts close.

By doing this in any house you plan to buy, you’ll know if you’re in a noisy neighborhood.

What to do if your neighbor’s dog won’t stop barking

The trick shown in the TikTok video could save you from ending up in a noisy neighborhood, but you’ll find yourself in an annoying situation if your neighbor decides to bring home a dog after you’ve moved into the new house.

A lot of users have noted in the comments that they are sick of the loud dogs in their neighborhood that won’t stop barking at ungodly hours. So, here are a few things you could do to mitigate the situation.

  • Address the issue with your neighbor first. Most pet parents who are away from home all day may not be aware of their pooches barking, which could be a result of anxiety as they are home alone.
  • Dogs that lack adequate exercise tend to bark more and get triggered easily. So, you could ask your neighbor to take their pets on long walks or indulge them in activities to burn their energy.
  • If your neighbor’s dog tends to bark at the sight of you or your dog, try blocking the view with plants or erecting a fence as the barking is probably a sign of them marking theur territory.
  • If your neighbor refuses to comply with your request and nothing stops the loud barks, you may have to file a formal noise complaint, as per the American Kennel Club.
