Tourist claims he captured ‘ghost’ on camera at a hotel before falling ‘seriously ill’
A tourist’s stay at The Stanley Hotel in Colorado became one of the most memorable experiences of his life, thanks to the “strange image” he captured, that turned him famous overnight.
A man named Henry Yau from Texas is among several visitors to have encountered some of the most unexplainable happenings at the hotel infamous for being haunted. The incident reportedly occurred in 2016.

Henry’s visit to The Stanely Hotel was a “last-minute” plan and his intention was only to “check it out.” He’s shared his spine-chilling experience within TODAY.
He did what every visitor at any famous hotel would do – he had dinner and wandered around its premises. Henry then stopped near the stairs of the hotel to click a picture of himself and he made sure nobody else was seen in the frame except him.
The picture was taken and he returned to the room to rest, until he couldn’t. He started to feel “really sick” later that night for reasons unknown. ” I had the shivers, I was like, somethings really wrong, he told the publication.
The person he was sharing the room with even suggested that he should perhaps go to the emergency room, but Henry refused.
The night passed and his stay at the hotel had come to an end, but he couldn’t figure out the reason behind him falling sick suddenly. However, when he was swiping through the photos he had captured at the hotel, he saw a really, really strange image of someone standing on the stairs, which one couldn’t help but presume was a ghost.
‘Strange’ picture shot him to fame
Henry went on to post the creepy picture of the unknown entity he had accidentally captured at The Stanley Hotel and little did he imagine the impact it was going to have on his life.
The rare image grabbed the attention of global media outlets and paranormal experts – the latter even explained the possible reason behind the man’s sickness that lasted overnight.
While Henry has “no idea” about what was in his picture, paranormal experts came up with different interpretations.
Some experts say that there are two ghosts, and other people said that the reason I got sick is because the ghost was trying to materialize, taking energy out of me. Theres so many theories about this, he shared.
Meanwhile, The Stanely Hotel known for its haunted history, inspired Stephen King’s novel The Shining. The renowned novelist spent a night at the hotel before penning his famous book.
