Earlier this week, celebrities from across TV and film strutted their stuff on the red carpet and sat down for a night of luxury as they hoped to win a coveted award at the Golden Globes. They also snatched exclusive goodie bags as the cherry on top.
Award shows have a long (and controversial) history of providing their winners, and sometimes their guests, with swagger worth hundreds of thousands. From trips abroad to five-star resorts, to bespoke fashion items, there is so much to drive actors to winning besides the award itself.
What did the winners of the Golden Globes get
This years Golden Globes saw a flurry of viral moments and cringe-worthy reactions, as some of 2023s top flicks won big. Those who were lucky enough to win a gong were also treated to luxury, eco-friendly goodie bags. This years winners included the likes of Barbie, Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Kieran Culkin and Ali Wong.
Inside the coveted goodie bags, winners were treated to $500,000 worth of swag that included 35 items and experiences. As reported in HELLO, the swag bags included an exotic yacht charter worth $50,000, six bottles of Liber Pater at $193,500 per bottle, $1,500 Opie Way custom-made sneakers, and a session with a celebrity tattoo artist.
While not all the prizes were included in every single bag, winners were also treated to an array of luxury trips. Such locations included New Zealand, Indonesia, Punta Mita, France, and Houston.
Unsurprisingly, the Golden Globes is but one of the awards shows to offer lavish goodie bags. But what do you gift people who already have everything? Here are some of the best.
Strangest: PETA emergency hammer
While it is undeniably important to save dogs trapped in overheating cars, its arguably strange to include the specific device in an Oscars nominee bag. After all, when was the last time you saw Meryl Streep smashing car windows to save a pooch? Maybe she would be if she had the PETA emergency hammer.

Best: Six-day Hawaiian vacation
The 2017 Oscars ceremony will go down in history as one of the most iconic public mess-ups. Shockingly, the award for Best Picture was given to La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Unfortunately, it was later revealed that Moonlight had actually won.
The cast of the musical flick were still gifted with the lavish location and an array of beauty products. Pretty good considering they didnt win.
Strangest: Vampire breast lift
While cosmetic procedures are nothing new in awards show goodie bags, one named the Vampire breast lift was certainly going to draw attention. Back in 2016, nominees at the Academy Awards (men included) were treated to this rather unique procedure.
The procedure, valued at $1,900, supposedly injects platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to improve skin texture and make your breasts appear fuller without the need for implants.
Best: Pregnancy and new parent care packages
While this inclusion is a little less lavish than the others, the 2019 Golden Globes ceremony saw winners leave with arguably one of the most practical gifts.

While 24k gold beauty products would go down a treat, this gift lasted significantly longer. This particular plot was located in Australia but, unfortunately, was not large enough to build anything significant on.
