TikTok user asks how much savings she should have
Can someone tell me what a normal amount of money for a 23-year-old in their savings account should be? she asked in the TikTok video which has had more than 6.3 million views.
Im just asking cause Im a just a little curious because some of my friends say they have – theyre like Oh my god Im so broke I just have $15,000 in my bank account.
She added that they have enough money to put a down payment on a car and shouted: “I just had enough nickels to scrounge up to get me a little McDouble!”
The TikTok user said that many of her friends are in debt, but she’s too scared to get a credit card because she doesn’t trust herself.
“I do not trust myself. I cant remember how much money I spent on – I just checked my bank account Im so scared – I dont know how much a normal amount is, help! she concluded.
The comments are wildly different
The conclusion is that there is no normal amount for a person to have saved because social media users’ responses are wildly different.

I say anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 is a normal amount of savings for a 23-year-old, another commented.
A third person added: I have 160 dollars in my savings account and Im gonna transfer it tomorrow to get a bagel.
“Maybe Im irresponsible but I dont have a savings account. I could die tomorrow, If I have it Im gonna spent it, someone else said.
