People thought there was an alien in Miami and the memes are hilarious
The internet has gone into meltdown after rumors of an 8 to 10 foot alien being spotted at a mall in Miami spread on social media. Funny memes are flooding Twitter/X in reaction, but the whole thing has been blown crazily out of proportion.
People thought they spotted a creature walking amongst police cars in a video from an altercation at Bayside Marketplace on New Years Day. Police were called after a fight broke out and fireworks were set off, which people wrongly assumed was gunfire.

In the blurry video, a staggering number of police cars are lined up along the street outside the mall as officers responded to the brawl.
A large shadow looks like its walking along next to the cars, prompting a number of social media posts claiming an alien had been spotted at the mall.
Misinformation then spread online making it seem like the police were responding to an extra-terrestrial incident, but that was never the case.
People even began claiming that the Miami airspace had been shut down and said people were seen running from the alien.
However, Miami Police Department public information officer Michael Vega confirmed to NBC that aliens had nothing to do with the New Years Day incident.
There were no aliens, he wrote in an email. No airports were closed. Nothing is being withheld from the public. LOL.
Police were dispatched for crowd control due to the juveniles refusing to leave, he clarified. Some businesses were temporarily closed to allow us to clear the area.
