Best alternatives to the Name Compatibility Test on TikTok as ‘soul mate’ filter is ‘missing’
People were happy to find their “soul mates” with the Name Compatibility Test filter until TikTok took it down, as claimed by disappointed couples. But there’s an alternative option that promises similar results. Last year, love birds used their moon phases to find out if they were compatible with their romantic partners. TikTok users are now questioning Shakespeare’s saying, “What’s in a name?”, by resorting to a slightly different method to find their favorite person.
Couples on TikTok are obsessed with Name Compatibility Test filter
Throughout 2023, several TikTok users eagerly participated in a viral trend that saw couples use a filter that measures their compatibility by matching their names.
All you had to do was enter your name on the top and your partner’s at the bottom or vice-versa, and let the pink-colored filter find out the compatibility percentage that would appear in the heart in between.
The scale would range from “just friends’ to “definitely soulmates”, meaning people with lower compatibility would match less.
However, the viral filter that was originally available on TikTok appears to have been taken down as several users have noted that they aren’t able to find it among other filters. The feature is “missing” when they type it out in the search bar.
When one user commented under a video featuring the filter: “Where did you get the filter?”, the content creator responded: “It got removed.”
Another said: “OMG. I love this filter. Why would this get deleted.”
“TikTok took away the filter. Why?!,” commented one.
But we’ve got some good news for you. The filter may be missing on TikTok, but you can still see how compatible you and your partner or crush are on a different platform.
There’s an alternative option to find your ‘soul mate’
The website italiannames.com hosts a Love Calculator called Name Love Match, and it works just like the missing TikTok filter.
“With the Love Calculator you can calculate the name compatibility and the probability of a successful relationship between two people,” the website says.
To do the test, just enter your name on the top and your partner’s below, where it says “His/Her name”, and then select Calculate.
The score will appear at the bottom next to a heart icon. It also tells you if you and your crush or partner are compatible enough to be soul mates.
For instance, if your match score is as little as 24%, the result would say there’s “no way” the person you matched with is “your twin mate, but with a bit of luck it could work fine!” Say your Name Love Match score is over 95%, then you’ve found your soul mate!
