‘Google Cha Cha Slide’ meaning explained

The viral TikTok and Twitter/X post says: “Google CHA CHA SLIDE on your phone. Click on the sparkling < and every icon that shows up after. Thank me later."

Social media users are confused as the post is worded a little strangely, but it’s essentially telling you to Google search the song “Cha Cha Slide”.

Then, you click on a sparkling microphone symbol that appears in the top left-hand side of the screen with your sound turned on.

After that, the microphone will keep changing and you have to continue clicking it over and over again for a surprise. Try it for yourself.

Sparkling microphone surprise goes viral

Google added the Easter Egg back in 2020, which prompts you to tap and listen to an interactive version of the song.

Each symbol represents a line of the DJ Casper and The Live Platinum Band hit and a line of the song plays out loud every time you click.

An Easter Egg isa hidden message or surprise placed in a software, video game or film that’s designed to amuse the recipient.

The surprise went viral when it was first added four years ago, and it’s taking over the internet once again in January 2024.
