‘2 Chopper 200 Shots’ meaning

‘Chopper’ is a slang word for gun and ‘shots’ refers to drinking measures of alcohol, typically spirits like vodka or tequila.

The viral line comes from rapper Kendrick Lamar’s track Swimming Pools, which was released back in 2012.

It’s being used as part of a transition trend on TikTok, where people post two video clips in time to a piece of music.

Transitions seamlessly merge two separate videos into one creation, with the clip changing in time with the drop.

TikTok transition represents glow up

The ‘2 Chopper 200 Shots’ trend is being used to show how you have changed over time and got more good looking.

First, you post an old photo or video of yourself from the past when you felt as though you looked less attractive.

Then, you add a picture or clip of yourself now in time with the word “Bang” to show how you’ve glowed up.

‘Glow up’ is a slang term used to describe a significant transformation in physical appearance that’s seen as an improvement.

Kendrick Lamar track takes over

Swimming Pools was the lead single from Lamar’s album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, and the track addresses the link between peer pressure and alcoholism.

Speaking to Complex, the rapper said: “What better way to make something universal than to speak about drinking?”

“Im coming from a household where you had to make a decision -you were either a casual drinker or you were a drunk,” he continued.

“Thats what that record is really about, me experiencing that as a kid and making my own decisions.”
