Dementia is such a condition that the people impacted by it often struggle to recognize their own family members. It’s one of the most painful experiences – to see your parents look at you as if you were a stranger.
But, a father struggling with the same condition gave his daughter the best surprise of her life by recognizing her on her special day.
The viral video with over 47 million views shows the bride’s father trying to paint something on the canvas, still unaware of the person standing next to him, while his daughter tries to strike up a conversation with him.
The bride, fully dressed in her wedding attire, asks her father if he still likes to paint and he responds by nodding his head with a little smile creasing his face.
Suddenly, he looks to his left and takes a moment before realizing the lady in the bridal costume speaking to him is his own daughter.
He drops the paintbrush immediately and pulls his daughter close to him to plant a kiss on her face after uttering her name. He realizes his daughter is about to get married.
