Man claims he worked at ‘secret Starbucks’ under Los Angeles where elite get ‘free drinks’

Have you ever seen a huge Hollywood star in Starbucks? No, because their assistant goes to get the drinks, right? Well, perhaps there could be another reason.

A man has claimed he worked at a secret Starbucks underneath the city of Los Angeles that no one knows about, and the elite go there to get free drinks – but many think it’s all satire.

Man claims he worked at secret Starbucks under LA

Speaking to comedian Steven Randolph, the mystery man claimed there is a super exclusive Starbucks “no one has ever heard of or been to” located in a “series of intricate tunnels” underneath the Californian city.

“I’m not kidding. They get access points to move through the city without ever having to be in traffic,” he said.

The man claimed there are access points to these tunnels at all kinds of locations including LAX airport and the Dodgers stadium. Plus, there are allegedly Starbucks stores dotted around under there to allow celebrities to get coffee – and they don’t have to pay!

He said he’s served Oprah, Bono and Jerry Seinfeld down there, the latter of which orders an almond milk latte with two shots.

As explained by American-based travel and exploration company Atlas Obscura, there are 11 miles of tunnels underneath Los Angeles that date back to the 1920s.

During the prohibition era, people ran drinking dens down there so they wouldn’t get caught. There are also stories of the tunnels being used by police to transport prisoners, bank security to move large sums of cash safely and coroners to store bodies.

However, there are no reports of these tunnels being used now, or a secret network of Starbucks being located under there.

People think it must be fake

The clip has gone viral on TikTok and people are skeptical in the comments, with some thinking the whole thing must be made up.

One person wrote: “Sorry, I need some proof.”

“Sounds like a description of a Black Mirror episode,” said another.

A third person added: “Wasn’t this a Simpson’s episode?”

“This is 100% not real,” someone else said.

People are also dubious about the supposed name of the series of tunnels, the “actor bahn,” which seems like a comedic play on the German word for motorway, ‘autobahn’.

It certainly looks like this one could be satire, although anything is possible in the celebrity world!
