Sprite releasing new Tea flavored soda inspired by viral TikTok trend
Sprite is releasing a brand new Tea flavored soda next year which takes inspiration from a viral TikTok trend.
The new Sprite was announced at the NACS Show in Las Vegas earlier this month, which debuts upcoming products before they arrive on store shelves – and people aren’t sure how to feel about this one.
Sprite releasing Tea flavored soda
It’s called Sprite + Tea and is a brown-colored soda that combines the regular flavor of Sprite with tea to create a “Lemon-Lime and Tea Flavored Soda”. However, the bottle states that the drink contains no caffeine at all, so it’s a great caffeine-free alternative to an iced tea.
The release comes after a trend went viral on TikTok last year which saw people putting Lipton tea bags into bottles of Sprite and shaking it up. This resulted in a tea-flavored Sprite which supposedly tasted amazing, and the Coca-Cola-owned soda clearly saw a marketing opportunity.
The soda is coming in March 2025 and will be available in both full sugar and zero sugar options for everyone to enjoy. Youll be able to get the full sugar version in 20oz bottles and 12oz cans, but the zero sugar will only be available in 12oz cans.
It will launch at retailers across the United States that usually sell Sprite for a limited time over the summer, and it’s not the only new soda that’s been announced this month. 7 Up is launching a flavor for the holidays, and a fruity new Coca-Cola is coming next year too.
Sprite + Tea gets mixed reactions
Some people think the drink sounds amazing, while others aren’t keen on the idea of Sprite mixed with tea.
One person wrote on Instagram: “It’s a yes for me.”
“Im skeptical,” said another.
A third person added: “That seems gross.”
Others have already been mixing Sprite with tea for years and assure everyone that it’s a great mix.
One person said it tastes like a sparkling Arnold Palmer, a non-alcoholicbeveragethat combines icedteaand lemonade. It’s named after the professional American golfer, who was known to request the combination.
